Media Release
“The Motorcycle Clothing Assessment Program (MotoCAP) .
A NEW rating program has been launched in Tasmania. More than 400 motorcyclists were in a crash in Tasmania last year.
It is a star rated system the number of stars given relates to how well the garment resists a crash’s destructive forces.
“Stakeholders from each Australian state and New Zealand worked together to develop the program. It uses a team of scientists from the Centre for Road Safety, the clothing is tested at Deakin University for, among other things, abrasion, impact, seam strength and heat.
“MotoCAP means motorcyclists will have independent information on how motorcycle jackets, pants and gloves compare with each other
